JBX 2.7 Anniversary

Hip Hip! HOORAY! Today is mine and Jb's 2 year and 7 month Anniversary! Unfortunately, I had to work today, but we still made the best of our day. Since today is Friday, I didn't have to wake up all early for school. I basically slept in while JB still had his classes. I woke up to his text saying, "I miss you baby. I can't wait to see you..even if it's just for half an hour." That already brought a huge smile to my face! I knew today was going to be extra special.

I woke up and started to do some of my research for my Theories of Human Development course. I was stressing out because until today, I still haven't purchased my textbook and my assignment involved reading chapter 2. Other than that, I showered and got ready for work and once I got out, there JB was...with chinese food! Super suprising, and super delicious!

Work wasn't that bad today, actually it was quite slow for being a friday. I'm starting to get along more personally with my co-workers. Although most of them are women, I can't really complain. Towards the end of the day, I went shopping for JB! I'll show you what I got him towards the end of this post...

When JB picked me up at work, the first thing he told me was how much he loves me. At the same time, he busted out this sunflower! (Sunflowers are my most favorite flowers) and it was all wrapped in a purple ribbon.

After depositing my paycheck, I was so anxious to get home. It was so cute because when we pulled up to our parking lot, we noticed that the sprinklers were on and how impossible it would be to not getting wet. It was like those moments in the movies where we both try so hard, and ending up making it a fun game. Anyway, once I opened our door, everything looked so calm and romantic. JB set the table with a vase full of sunflowers, pebbles surrounding it, and candles that added soft sparkles. It was beautiful...

He told me that dinner would be ready in a few minutes and that I should go change clothes and check out the new Britney Spears "Gimme Gimme More" music video that he got from iTunes. I thought that the video was a little flat regarding how 95% of it was focusing black-haired Britney on a pole. But I do admit, it was vibrant and colorful!

I also got the chance to do some research on where I'm going to take him to dinner for our anniversary dinner tomorrow. Since it's still considered a surprise, I'll post more info on that after tomorrow.

"BABE! DINNER'S READY!!"

I walk out of our bedroom and into the living room. The lights were dimmed and there he was in the kitchen being all cute. "Welcome to JB's Kitchen. A 3-course meal is my special treat, just for you.." He cooked a whole meal! He even had a cute name for each entree.

First Course: "Pizza de la Hammie"

Second Course: "Pork Chop a la 2.7"

Third Course: "Peaches, Cream, and Crumbs"

Dinner was so special! This is our second anniversary spent here at our new home in San Diego! Last month, I forgot to mention that me and him just took a driving tour of what San Diego can offer us. From the Pacific Coast Highway Beaches, to the malls, to the Downtown Gas Lamp District, we loved learning more about what's around us. But today, was just as memorable!

After dinner I gave him my gift. Although I'm a little more on the less romantic side, I knew he would love these...

NIKE VANDAL LOWs

He super loved them! But stupid me...they were both the left pairs! So tomorrow were going to head back to the mall to fix that. Then we are going to start off our anniversary weekend! Its only a monthly anniversary and we have a whole day planned for tomorrow including heading to the beach! Love it.

As for now, I have my appointment with him in the shower..I think you know where this is heading for the remainder of the evening.

I love him. He loves me.

WE ATE, SIPPED, PLAYED, UNO!

So I officialy have a problem typing blogs on this laptop. It seems that everytime I start a new blog, I tend to accidently highlight the whole entry on the little fingerpad, and OOPS delete everthing! This is my second attempt.

Okay, so I was talking about my Thursday night. It all started out when I got a missed call from Kristin. A couple minutes passed and then Minji called. Turns out we were going to hang out! Excited! Now what to do? We made plans to meet up at BANANA BAY in Rowland Heights, CA. And afterwards, after months of waiting, watch the premier of SPIDERMAN 3!!

So we met up at banana bay. Shellister was there first since she went straight from work. Me and Jaybe got there next, then Kristin and finally Minji. We even had to order for Minji, only because we were all hungry, and knowing how busy that place gets, we knew it was the best thing.

I ordered beef pad see ew, which was totally out of the ordinary for me since I tend to order more than just one entry. Jaybe ordered the fried pork chop with rice and a thai iced tea. Oh and I got my fav drink, pineapple juice. Yum! We all shared fried wonton and fried calamari as our appetizers. I regret not taking pixes of our food, but we go to that restaurant a lot, so that’s no biggy. It was a really good dinner because we all got to catch up with everybody’s lives!

After dinner, we were all suppose to go to the theaters and watch Spiderman 3 but….

Kristin and Michaele refused! Ahh. Nope that was just dramatic. They basically had to wake up early tomorrow, and knowing that the movie was more than 2 hours, it was totally understandable. So instead, since Minji already bought the tickets for us, we just went back there and switch those tickets for a Friday night show. It was going to be fine.

While we were there, we saw the movie trailor for THE SIMPSONS MOVIE. And since it was one of the most creative trailors that we’ve ever seen, why not take a picture with it?

After we got our new movie stubs, we still realized how young the night was. Me, Minji, and Jaybe ended up craving some boba, so we went to TEN REN’S in Rowland Heights and decided to dine in there. Since the environment there is very trendy and youthful, might as well make it fun for us too.

Since Minji is korean and cool like that, she for some odd reason, had a UNO cards and a deck of playing cards in her purse. IT WAS GAME NIGHT! Lolz

I ordered an Amazon Teaser, which is a blend of boba and some other exotic fruits. Jaybe ordered a regular black iced tea, and Minji ordered the hot black tea. For the heck of it, we also ordered some sweet toast, just to get the game started!

First we played UNO using Minji’s Care Bear cards. Since its been a while since either of us played uno, we had to look at the directions and re-read everything. But when the game started we all got so into it.

After a few games, we picked up the playing cards. These cards were a little unique only because their STARBUCKS game cards (note to the readers: Minji has been a Starbucks employee since we were in high school together almost 4 years ago. ) and those cards were I think 3 years old? Good timing to use them huh?

So we ended up playing Pusoy Dos aka. Big 2. For some odd reason, I kept winning at 2nd place. Minjia and Jaybe kept switching for 1st and 3rd and vice versa. It was funny because I kept teasing to them that I average at a 2nd place level, but they teased me that I was 3rd place because I never get 1st. Boo to them! Haha

Our old friend, Lisa, came by to say hi. It was really good seeing her although it was so random. I remember I had a crush on her in elementary school. Ahh, those little innocent days. But yeah back to the game! Lolz

Our waiter was pretty cute, so in the end we asked him to take our picture and this was what it looked like.

On the way to the door, I also got to see Clara, which was another friend I knew back in high school. I was actually in the same grade as her older sister, but Clara is too cute to not to be considered.!

We basically called it a night after that. Since Jaybe had a Disney orientation the next morning, we had to fill the car up with gas. I was a little low on the money, so I asked my mom for her card and she gave me a 20. Still good still good.

SOCIAL HOLLYWOOD

Its official! I'm a blog addict. Not only am I browsing through the pages of other fellow bloggers, I already think about what I'll be blogging about as the day proceeds, and apparently, it seems as if I blog events 1-2 days after it occurs. This only means that everytime I blog is a few days late. I'll try working on that so that I could blog more current events.

So Social Hollywood? This is the venue and upscale Morrocan restaurant off Sunset Blvd where we celebrated one of our good friend's 24th birthday. The celebrant? Mr. Jason Tadeo. I have known him through my cuzin, since they've been childhood friends since the beginning of time.

Dinner was reserved for 6:15 in the evening, but since me and Jaybe were coming from the Walnut Hills and taking a pre-photosession in the car on the way there, we were expected to be late.Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Now keeping in mind that this was a surprise dinner, little did I know of what the exact plans were. It turns out, while Ryan [Jason's boyfriend] was planning an intimate dinner consisting of only two of them, Jason wasn't suppose to know that there was a pool of guests waiting for him. As me and Jaybe pulled up to the valet, BOOM I saw Ryan and Jason and me being so retarded, I ended up waving to Jason. THERE GOES THE SURPRISE! Right away, Ryan called Dean and Dean called me telling me the surprised was ruin. DARNIT! That sort of set my mood up for the dinner.

Dinner was actually quite festive! The menu consisted of fine dishes and I did not know where I'd start. So I started off with a drink. It seems that the spirit of the evening was the Promegranite Run which was Cruzan light rum and promegranite juice mixed with sweet soda and a splash of sweetened lemon juice. It was fab! Just perfect! Not too alchy and not too lite at the same time.

I ordered the Pan Roasted Salmon with braised artichokes, sunchokes, celery and truffles. It was delicious! Since it was salmon, I knew that it would be nice and juicy, yet cooked to a slight crip!

Jaybe ordered the Roasted Chicken Breast and Chicken Leg Morrocan Cigars, couscous with dried fruits and nuts. His dish didnt really top off the roasted chicken from the Storyteller's Cafe in The California Disney Resort, but it was still delicious.

I got to try some other dishes that the others ordered such as the Filet Mignon with lobster bordelaise as well as the Mac and Cheese side dish. They, too, were delicious.

For dessert, the entire party shared the sampler platter which had 4 different types of their special desserts including a well-lit creme brulet. I didnt really get the chance to try everything but the arrangement was pretty. lolz.

Then the waiter gave the bill, which was creatively placed in a cute black ceramic lady's pump. I thought it was so cute, Ryan ended up taking the damn thing, and now I'm using it as a paperweight. Interesting enough, I love how I ended up using it instead of just ignoring it and giving it to my mom.

I ended up paying about $170 for me and Jaybe. Although we were estimated to pay about $100, it didnt really matter since we were there to celebrate a good friend's birthday. And since I didn't carry any cash, I'm glad my cuzin was there to help out with the valet. thanks cuz! haha. I was even short on tipping the guy, even since he had to wait a little longer for me to realize the car was out. He was all, "HURRY UP BLACK BENZ!" I ended up tipping him $1. YIKES!

We were suppose to join the party at THE ARCLIGHT and watch IN THE LAND OF WOMEN. But, due to our high bill, we passed and called it a night.

So that was our night. Not really.

Once we got home, me and Jaybe ended up playing with the camara and did some type of a photoshoot. Hey, we were stunning that night! Haha. Here were some of the best...

So that was our SOCIAL HOLLYWOOD experience. I totally recommend that place to anyone who are in the wills of trying something new. If you like modern restaurants and are willing to pay a lot for a little, (excellent customer service), then go for it!

LAWRY'S PRIME RIB EXPERIENCE

The whole day yesterday was dedicated to celebrate Nate's achievement on passing the LVN State Boards. We've all been awaiting this night the entire week, and finally we can now saw that we all have a fascinating experience.

First off, me and the boys played another set of SCRABULOUS. I already forgot who one, or even lost! Probably me again. It was such a lazy day. Then we had a nice lunch at CAPITAL SEAFOOD RESTAURANT in Rowland Heights. Parking was a bitch as always. Nate even flicked this one dude off cuz he didn't let us pass. People can be so blah nowadays! Anyhoo, lunch was delicious as always at that place! I love chinese broccolli.

Then we headed back home chilled again. A lot of "doing nothings" this weekend. We all got into the whole WHO WANTS TO BE THE NEXT DOLL shindig on MTV. Well, it was the first time for my mom and christie to watch that. So basically, they were pretty much into it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Evening came along, and we all decided to attend mass at ST. DENNIS in Diamond Bar. It was a really pretty church. I even took a picture of the waterfall outside the main entrance.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

It was funny because instead of sitting in the actual part of the church, we ended up seating in those little rooms that were meant for babies to cry in. We basically watched mass through a huge window.

After mass, we headed to WHISKEY BARREL in Walnut and I bought some lotto tickets. One for saturday and one for tuesday. (yes i believe that one day I could have a few extra million dollars! (Later turns out that none of my numbers for saturday was drawn darnit!)

We got home, got all dressed up and cute-ified! I wore all black. I don't have a particular reason, I just felt like wearing all black could represent my simplicity for the evening. We took two cars: the Mercedes Benz C230 Kompressor and the Infinite G35. Hey, gotta represent ourselves somehow, right?!

Anyhoo. The venue was pretty. My first impression was WTF because as we all got out of our car (its valet only), we noticed all these young teenagers coming out of the restaurant. I swear they looked as if they were just 16 or 17, having one of them celebrate a birthday. Well, as we were waiting for our table, the valet dude pulled up a BENTLEY coupe. All I know is that a)that car costs over $100,000 and b)the owner must make bank! So yeah, guess who claims that car..one of those darn teenagers! Seriously, I thought I lived a blingy life as a young teen with my benz, but now I have nothing on that!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Dinner itself was amazing. I started off the celebration by announcing a toast in recognizing Nate, our celebrant. I basically mentioned and reminded everyone why we were there, to celebrate the Deuce on passing the boards. It was so great seeing everyone there all happy and proud, especially my mom.

Now for what we actually ate, I ordered the Lawrys Cut, which at first, I thought was going to be too fullfilling for me. I mean, you get the actual prime rib, which is already gynormous! And then you also get the mashed potatoes with gravy, but the best part was the cream of corn! That made everything so much better! Heres what it looks like.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
We all knew we were quite full, especially Honeylyn, but you can't have a complete dinner without dessert! So, afer pondering through the dessert menu, we all made up our minds. Nate ordered the creme brulee and I ordered the Haagan Daaz hot fudge ice cream. That was delicous, even though it could be tricky, because most of the top of bowl was covered with whipped cream (making it seam like its all ice cream when it wasnt).

So we were all happy by the end of the night. How much was the dinner? Lets just say it was well worth it. I believe it was in the mid $300s. We even took some home.

After dinner, we drove to West Covina to go visit Candyl at work. Well actually, since she were to get out at midnight lastnight, Nate just wanted to surprise her and make sure that she got to her car safely. Something a nice bf would do. I mean, its West Covina! We got home, late night, and a good dinner. That was a great family-time saturday.

Oh and Minji came over to borrow my blue sleeping bag. (Random)
