Its official! I'm a blog addict. Not only am I browsing through the pages of other fellow bloggers, I already think about what I'll be blogging about as the day proceeds, and apparently, it seems as if I blog events 1-2 days after it occurs. This only means that everytime I blog is a few days late. I'll try working on that so that I could blog more current events.
So Social Hollywood? This is the venue and upscale Morrocan restaurant off Sunset Blvd where we celebrated one of our good friend's 24th birthday. The celebrant? Mr. Jason Tadeo. I have known him through my cuzin, since they've been childhood friends since the beginning of time.
Dinner was reserved for 6:15 in the evening, but since me and Jaybe were coming from the Walnut Hills and taking a pre-photosession in the car on the way there, we were expected to be late. Now keeping in mind that this was a surprise dinner, little did I know of what the exact plans were. It turns out, while Ryan [Jason's boyfriend] was planning an intimate dinner consisting of only two of them, Jason wasn't suppose to know that there was a pool of guests waiting for him. As me and Jaybe pulled up to the valet, BOOM I saw Ryan and Jason and me being so retarded, I ended up waving to Jason. THERE GOES THE SURPRISE! Right away, Ryan called Dean and Dean called me telling me the surprised was ruin. DARNIT! That sort of set my mood up for the dinner.
The Celebrant Jason and His Boyfriend Ryan.
Dinner was actually quite festive! The menu consisted of fine dishes and I did not know where I'd start. So I started off with a drink. It seems that the spirit of the evening was the Promegranite Run which was Cruzan light rum and promegranite juice mixed with sweet soda and a splash of sweetened lemon juice. It was fab! Just perfect! Not too alchy and not too lite at the same time.
I ordered the Pan Roasted Salmon with braised artichokes, sunchokes, celery and truffles. It was delicious! Since it was salmon, I knew that it would be nice and juicy, yet cooked to a slight crip!
Jaybe ordered the Roasted Chicken Breast and Chicken Leg Morrocan Cigars, couscous with dried fruits and nuts. His dish didnt really top off the roasted chicken from the Storyteller's Cafe in The California Disney Resort, but it was still delicious.
I got to try some other dishes that the others ordered such as the Filet Mignon with lobster bordelaise as well as the Mac and Cheese side dish. They, too, were delicious.
For dessert, the entire party shared the sampler platter which had 4 different types of their special desserts including a well-lit creme brulet. I didnt really get the chance to try everything but the arrangement was pretty. lolz.
Then the waiter gave the bill, which was creatively placed in a cute black ceramic lady's pump. I thought it was so cute, Ryan ended up taking the damn thing, and now I'm using it as a paperweight. Interesting enough, I love how I ended up using it instead of just ignoring it and giving it to my mom.
I ended up paying about $170 for me and Jaybe. Although we were estimated to pay about $100, it didnt really matter since we were there to celebrate a good friend's birthday. And since I didn't carry any cash, I'm glad my cuzin was there to help out with the valet. thanks cuz! haha. I was even short on tipping the guy, even since he had to wait a little longer for me to realize the car was out. He was all, "HURRY UP BLACK BENZ!" I ended up tipping him $1. YIKES!
We were suppose to join the party at THE ARCLIGHT and watch IN THE LAND OF WOMEN. But, due to our high bill, we passed and called it a night.
So that was our night. Not really.
Once we got home, me and Jaybe ended up playing with the camara and did some type of a photoshoot. Hey, we were stunning that night! Haha. Here were some of the best...
So that was our SOCIAL HOLLYWOOD experience. I totally recommend that place to anyone who are in the wills of trying something new. If you like modern restaurants and are willing to pay a lot for a little, (excellent customer service), then go for it!
